Its close enough for free... great for a parent.. A great alternative to Minecraft, and its free. Set up your own server, have multiple accounts, install custom modifications and map generators, just beware the community that supports it is filled with IT/code snobs. The best application for Minetest that I have found is in the scenario that you want to create your own server, with multiple accounts to manage your kids online experience - without the $25 US price-tag per account that Minecraft requires. I don't know anything about computer coding, and can barely get linux to install on a pc, but I can easily install mods, run the server and manage permissions. I even was able to change the difficulty level for my kids.I am told minetest/minecraft are great opportunities to learn bits of code and programming basics, and I can see a lot of fun/educational potential for the "block-world" game genre.

It is the best world that you can make. it is an awsome world in which your imagsnation can go up high in the skies Pros: everything Cons: that there are tunnels directly on the surface so be careful
